Maggie Trush Hammond
President

Maggie Trush Hammond is a Philadelphia native and graduate of Saint Hubert’s School for Girls. She graduated with her ASN from Gwynedd-Mercy College and her BSN from University of Phoenix. Maggie has been a registered nurse since 1992 and works as a Labor and Delivery Charge Nurse at Jefferson Hospital in Philly.

She joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a cheerleader in 1993 and cheered until 1999. Maggie credits her experience as a Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader with many lifelong friendships, love of cheer and dance, and inspiring her to give back to her local community. In 2009, she with a group of former cheerleaders from the 1990’s and 2000’s planned a reunion which grew into an alumnae organization. By December 2009, this group of former Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders, dating back to the 1960’s, joined the NFLA Philadelphia Chapter to work together as group of former players, cheerleaders and coaches to support local charities particularly those effecting children in need. Maggie initially held a position as Membership Chair for both the cheerleader alumni and the Philadelphia Chapter of the NFLA. Working with the men of the NFLA Philadelphia Chapter, the cheerleaders helped to make the Philadelphia Chapter one of the premier chapters in the NFLA.

In 2012, Maggie accepted the position as the President of the Cheerleaders of the NFLA Philadelphia Chapter, a position she has cherished ever since. In 2012, the Cheerleaders of the NFLA Philadelphia Chapter joined the NFCAO a non-profit organization of former NFL Cheerleaders that works with the NFLA to support charities locally and nationally. In June of 2021, the cheerleader board decided to establish itself as an independent 501c7 and renamed themselves the Philadelphia Professional Football Cheerleader Alumni while maintaining their relationship with the NFLA and remaining an official chapter of the NFCAO. Her most fond memories of our alumni association are the fabulous reunions, Race for the Cure, Team Ra-Ras Kick Breast Cancer YouTube video, NFLA Celebrity Golf Outings, and the Gridiron Football and Cheer Camp.

When not involved with the NFLA, PPFCA and NFCAO she enjoys spending time with her husband Cory and dog Ella. Maggie utilizes her cheerleader skills most of the year as her son Brady’s crazy hockey mom! She has loved getting to know and build the cheer alumni over the years and cherishes the sisterhood that has formed from the multiple generations of women who graced the field as a Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader.
